The very small leaflets provide nicely filtered shade and collect moisture, which falls to the ground below. This tree is fast-growing but may live more than a century. Honeylocust is primarily pollinated by bees, flies, and skipper butterflies. It is also a host plant (food source) for various moth and butterfly caterpillars.
Plant on the east or west side of your home for maximum energy benefit.

Soil conditions: mildly acidic to mildly alkaline, but adaptable
Moisture tolerance: best in moist to wet, well-drained sites, but adaptable
