Aspen are fast-growing, tough, native prairie trees. They can adapt and grow in a wide variety of conditions and are known for their bright golden fall color and birch-like white bark. They have fewer pest-problems than birch, and are more heat-tolerant. Prairie Gold is a naturally selected cultivar that has especially beautiful fall color and good disease resistance.
